THE FLAG LANGUAGE COURSE SIGNS
is an on-going performance project that focuses on the old technique of communication of the flag alphabet or semaphore signals. It investigates the frictions and interferences between bodily movement, signification, language and readability.
How can we use signals to position ourselves?
How are we positioned by signals?
How can the use of a strict form provide freedom?
How does the desire to communicate enable us to occupy minds and places?
Do we need to be understood in order to make ourselves clear?
“This performance is the perfect proof for the fact that it is not really of such importance WHAT we say. What is of importance is HOW we say it” (reaction from the audience)
