Tremble - Andreas Hannes

In Tremble, a group of skippers embarks on a journey through the infinite. Crossing through an array of environments and imageries, they march, they glide, they rave, they fall like the stars and hit the shore like a wave.

WHEN: 28.11 (premiere) - 29.11, 20:30

WHERE: Dansmakers Amsterdam

Andreas works with the practice of continuous skipping (as in skipping down the street). In this performance, he assumes that the body is a spaceship. Through constant travelling, the history of skipping becomes a vehicle in the search for new futures. In this performance, Andreas is collaborating with established musician Rival Consoles.

Andreas Hannes (SNDO 2018) won the Moving Forward Trajectory with his graduation performance The City – A skipping piece. Tremble is developed as part of the Moving Forward Trajectory, which offers to one graduated and promising choreographer the unique chance to develop themselves and their work during one year. Moving Forward is an initiative of Dansmakers Amsterdam and Dansgroep Amsterdam in collaboration with Dansateliers, DansBrabant and the Moving Futures Network.

Andreas Hannes (1987, GR) studied music and practiced film making before he started making dance. Graduate of SNDO (2018), Andreas articulates his work through the notion of (relational, physical or metaphysical) distances. he looks at the tensions and interactions between different bodies, histories, traditions, disciplines and fields, in order to unfold and understand their meeting points and departures. Since 2017, he has been developing the practice of continuous skipping (as in skiping down the street). Andreas received the Moving Forward trajectory 18/19 and the Young Art Support in 2019.
