New Adventures Performance Night 2 & 3 cancelled

Dear dance audience,

The news had not yet completely descended when the government extended the measure over two important theatre months. The tightened measures for the corona crisis make it impossible to organise cultural activities for live audiences before 1 June.

For Dansmakers Amsterdam, in the short term this means cancelling various performances in and out of the theatre, such as the pop-up spring festival on 21 March, New Adventures Performance Night 2 and 3 April and 8 and 9 May, and the premiere of Keren Rosenberg.

The consequences for Moving Futures will also be significant. Not only the opening on 20 March in Rotterdam was cancelled, but also the seven subsequent festivals. Together with Dansmakers, we will put our shoulders to the wheel and see how we can support the makers in the coming weeks with our expertise and channels.

Studio's for artists will remain available to work. The residencies will continue with the new corona measures if possible.

From 2 March to 3 April Sherise Strang & Julia Monschau and Elisa Zuppini will work on their research project in the studio and theatre of Dansmakers Amsterdam. The new residents, Charlie Trier, Paula Chaves & Thais di Marco, will start on 9 April. We are still discussing in what form this residency will take place. For all the residents, we are looking into the possibility of shifting the public presentation to a new date.

For your information:

People with a ticket for a public activity hosted in Dansmakers Amsterdam from another organizer will be contacted by them. Please keep in mind that - given the exceptional situation - these parties will only be able to inform at a later stage.

We wish you all a lot of strength, love and good health in these uncertain times. Take good care of each other.

The Dansmakers Team
