In this series, several research projects are selected each year for an intensive residency programme. For four weeks, the theatre and studio will be used by these makers as a laboratory for innovation in dance, often across multiple disciplines. The result is shared with the audience. Between December 2019 and May 2020 they each work for four weeks in the studios of Dansmakers Amsterdam. Two of the six projects are organized in collaboration between Dansmakers and ICK Amsterdam. This season they are Sherise Strang & Julia Monschau and Elisa Zuppini.

Following an Open Call, Danmakers Amsterdam and ICK received fifty applications from which six research projects by choreographers and collectives were selected. During a compact residency period of four weeks between November 2019 and April 2020, the makers will be able to do research into new work, further research and deepen their ideas, and they will be given room for experimentation and reflection. This will take place under artistic and production supervision. The period ends with public performances, in which the makers connect with the audience and give context to the work.
In order to stimulate artistic exchange between artists during the residency, two residences will run parallel to each other. Artists are encouraged to collaborate and exchange ideas and experiences during their process.
