Moving Forward -New Generation Performance Night

The Moving Forward Performance Night concludes festively an intensive residency period with flash performances and graduation works by a selection of young choreographers. The nominated choreographers for the Moving Forward Trajectory are Piet Van Dycke, Andreas Hannes, Antonia Steffens.

Prior to the Moving Forward night, the nominees and a selection of young choreographers go into a two-week residency at Dansmakers Amsterdam, led by choreographer Liat Waysbort, dramaturge Renee Copraij and Suzy Blok. They deepen and fine-tune their practice and creative process.

 

De Moving Forward Intensive residents are Antonia Steffens, Andreas Hannes, Daniel Barkan, Enrico Meyer, Maria Sartzetaki, Kelly Vanneste, Thais Dimarco, Elisa Zuppini, Ise Verstegen, Charlotte Lemstra, Liza Rinkema. Their residency period will be festively closes with Flash Performances and graduation work and video excerpts by the nominees Antonia Steffens, Andreas Hannes and Piet Van Dycke. About Moving Forward

 

Moving Forward Trajectory

To be eligible for the trajectory, out of all graduation performances in the Netherlands three to four promising choreographers are scouted. The selected candidates for 2018 are Andreas Hannes (AHK SNDO-School voor Nieuwe Dansontwikkeling, Amsterdam), Antonia Steffens (SNDO-AHK, Amsterdam) and Piet Van Dycke (Fontys, Tilburg). Their graduation work will be presented during the Performance Night to the jury and de audience. Half November will be announced which one of them will receive the Moving Forward Trajectory 2018/19.

The jury: Lisa Wiegel (Brakke Grond), Heleen Volman (DansBrabant/Moving Futures), Aukje Verhoog (Fringe Festival), Krisztina de Chatel (choreograaf), Suzy Blok (Dansmakers Amsterdam/Moving Futures).

 

 

 

Moving Forward Intensive

The Moving Forward Performance Night concludes an intensive residency period with festive flash performances and graduation works by a selection of young choreographers, including the nominated choreographers of the Moving Forward Trajectory. Under the guidance of choreographer Liat Waysbort Suzy Blok, and dramaturg Renée Copraij, this is a period in which the exchange of knowledge and skills and their creative process is further refined. They got a unique chance to develop their artistic, productional and technical skills. 

The Moving Forward Intensive residents are Antonia Steffens, Andreas Hannes, Daniel Barkan, Enrico Meyer, Maria Sartzetaki, Kelly Vanneste, Thais Dimarco, Elisa Zuppini, Ise Verstegen, Charlotte Lemstra. During the Performance Night they disclose there residence with flashperformances.

 

*Moving Forward is Initiated and organised by Dansmakers Amsterdam Supported by Dansgroep Amsterdam and in collaboration with the Moving Futures Partners: DansBrabant, Dansateliers, Random Collision, De Nieuwe Oost, Dansmakers Amsterdam. Previous choreographers who have run the Trajectory are Sigrid Stigsdatter (2017/18) Evangelos Biskas V (2016/17) and Jija Sohn (2015/16). The work of Sigrid Stigsdatter will be on tour during the Moving Futures Dance Festival 2019.
