Dorit Weintal is an Italian-Israeli director, choreographer and dancer. Since 2003 she is based in Amsterdam and travels internationally as performer, teacher and director. She holds a Masters degree in the theory of Arts and Architecture from Tel Aviv University (2000). In Europe and Israel she has collaborated and performed with various directors and companies including Diane Elshout and Frank Handeler, Kenzo Kusuda, De Kazerne Theater, Simon Rowe (les Ballet C. de la B.), Isabel Cuesta, Yael Orni (Maguy Marin), Clipa Theatre.
Since 2003 she has been active in a cultural exchange between Arab and Jewish artists. Her professional dance experience includes ballet, modern dance, contemporary training, improvisation skills; composition and choreography; internal martial arts; Wudang training (oriental college Amsterdam), Butoh and Clowning. Dorit Weintal is co-founder of The Dam Company, a group for physical theatre in Amsterdam.
