Dance festival Moving Futures travels to Utrecht
Three feature-length programs in which the last word about major themes has not been said yet
The travelling dance festival Moving Futures comes to Utrecht. In Theater Kikker you will meet from 20 to 22 april dance of makers at the start of their career. With multiple shows per night and a rich context program you are invited to not only to see but also to move along or to write. With themes like identity, mortality and relationships, dance makers stitches ancient themes in a contemporary coat.

Talking Talks - speaking conversations with Daphne Rieken
The traditional woman is in Geisha Miracle by Jija Sohn (winner Moving Forward 2016) dog, girl, woman, slut and pop star all in one. A shiny world full of fire, tears and fits of laughter. The show is introduced by a lecture on the geisha in the past and now, by a sociologist and japan specialist Aya Ezawa.
With Have I Been Here Before Marie Goeminne shows us in a three headed performance how death and life are intertwined. A dance performance about a topic we don't easily talk aboout.
The performance is followed by Talking Talks.

CINEDANS - exclusive dance-film programme
Lana Čoporda seduces and provokes in ZOOM, Hestia and Sheela na gig on virtuose manner. An accurate picture of the representation of women in today's media.
In Nautural Aida Guirro Salinas of dance collective Arnhem Girls and Jefta Tanate bring bring a duet where movement only arises in contact, which is avoided as much as possible at the same time.
The whole program is framed by the film programme that cinedans has compiled especially for the festival.

In Circles of choreographer Cecilia Moisio and singer Ineke Vandoorn, the public is close on the skin of the players. Dance, song and text are a cause for watching and being watched.
Joseph Simon detangles, rearranged and reinterprets elements from diverse cultures and languages in Third Culture Kid and brings a surprising merger of classical ballet, breakdance and presentation.
The time of boarding will determine the experience of each of the public in the dance installation (SHIFT) of choreographer and performer Inari Salmivaara.

Moving Futures Dance Festival 2017
For the third time, Moving Futures festival travels to several theatres around the Netherlands. The festival presents works of emerging choreographers working under the umbrella of the five Dutch Danchouses Dansmakers Amsterdam, Dansateliers, DansBrabant, Random Collision and Generale Oost. During the festival you will see and experience dance of today through an extensive program with performances, workshops, meet & greets, aftertalks, lectures, film and more!
