Spitfire Company is an artistic company that includes works of physical and dance theatre. It is currently one of the most progressive ensembles of author theatre in the Czech Republic, under the artistic direction of Petr Boháč (CZ). During the Makers Intensive, there will be a new collaboration with the Czech choreographer and dancer Pavel Mašek (CZ).
Petr Boháč(CZ, 1977) is the artistic director and co-founder of Spitfire Company. In each particular performance he is searching for an original physical language. The emphasis lies on dealing with a human´s limitation and his/her existential situation. His performances received several prestigious awards. Mr. Boháč is also founder of The International Festival Zero Point, which brings the best of physical, mime, visual and multi-genres theatre forms to Prague.
Pavel Mašek (CZ, 1983) is a dancer from Prague based in Brussels. He worked for various dance and theatre companies including Ultima Vez/Wim Vandekeybus, Lenka Vagnerová and Thomas Steyaert. He stood at the cradle of the Czech dance company DOT504 and is co-founder of La Putyka (contemporary Czech circus). Pavel was nominated twice for dancer of the year (Czech Dance Platform) and received the audience award in 2011 for Mah Hunt (ism. Lenka Vagnerová).
