Rafael Zielinski (1977) was born in Poland. In 1986, at the age of nine, he immigrated to Germany where he studied at the ‘Folkwang Hochschule Essen-Werden’. In 1998 he moved to Holland and became a professional dancer, creator and teacher of dance at ‘De Amsterdamse Hogeschool van de Kunsten’. Initially starting with Folkdance, he is trained in Modern Dance Technique, Classical Ballet, Release- and Improvisation Techniques.
Since 2000 he is working professionally in the dance field, performing with several Dance companies and choreographers in Europe. Such as; Dance Company Norrdans/Sweden, De Meekers, Galama & Kho, Gato Bizar and Suzy Blok/The Netherlands, Ute Rauwald/Germany.
Rafael Zielinski works as a freelance choreographer and guest teacher for several crossover danceprojects and Festivals such as ‘Tsekh’ dance festival in Moscow, ‘Rapsfeld’ with Stephan Geisler, BKJ Berlin/Germany. Currently he is graduating as a Somatic Movement Coach at The Institute for Somatic Movement Studies in Amsterdam, enriching his professional life in the field of dance.
