Joaquín Sánchez Guerrero

Joaquín Sánchez Guerrero, spanish, is a dancer and choreographer who lives in Barcelona. He graduated in Codarts, Rotterdam, where he danced with choreographers such as Michael Schumacher, Amy Raymond and created several pieces like “two fish” and the solo “breath in, breath out” (ITS festival). He worked as professional dancer with Meekers for the Hatchling production.

His last solo piece, created and performed by himself “Always look at the sea” won the 1st price for choreography in the 14th International Solo-Dance-Theater Festival Stuttgart in March 2010, which had gone on tour in several festival as STEPS in Switzerland, a tour in Germany, Sogni festival in Gent and it was invited to the 8º Forum international of dance and the VIVADANSA festival and program for the Cervantes institutes around Brazil in April 2011.

In his pieces he introduces his personal world: a mixture of dance, poetry and short open dialogues. He is concerned with bringing the audience to a better place, embracing the present, the senses and its hope.
